marshmallows melted with butter and then added to a bunch of bland breakfast cereal.
My opinion: a waste of marshmallows. Just think of all the s'mores that have not been made because the marshmallows had been melted. However, tonight I made a batch with coco crispies and some chocolate chips thrown in, and they were pretty tasty.

But you're forgetting one little thing: Rice Crispies are most often made with Mini marshmellows, which are too small for s'mores; thus reserving the big marshmellows for the campfire favorite.
the place mini marshmallows belong is in hot coco, not mixed with rice.
I love Rice Crisie treats! I think they are an excellent use of marshmallows - if made correctly. If they are dry and hard then it is a waste of marshmallows.
Also, homemade ones that are still warm are WAY better than the storebought ones.
